Panaji: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee He will reach Goa on Thursday on a three-day tour of the state, where assembly elections are due early next year.
A Trinamool Congress spokesperson said on Wednesday, “The Chief Minister of West Bengal will reach Goa on October 28 at around 5.30 pm.” He said this is his first visit to the coastal state, where the TMC has decided to contest the February 2022 assembly elections.
“During her visit, Banerjee will meet intellectuals, thinkers, professionals and others,” he said. He said Banerjee would leave from Goa on the morning of October 30.
The Trinamool, however, did not share the party chief’s detailed program schedule with the media in Goa.
The Banerjee-led party, which won the Bengal assembly elections earlier this year, has already announced its decision to contest the upcoming Goa polls. Last week, Banerjee had urged political parties, organizations and individuals to join her party to defeat Goa’s ruling BJP and its “divisive agenda”.
