West Bengal 12th topper Adhisha Debsharma aims to take both JEE and NEET, wants to serve people

Adhisha Debsharma, a native of Cooch Behar, has topped the West Bengal Class 12 board exam. A student of Dinhata Soni Devi Jain High School, she defeated around 7.5 lakh students to secure the top position. He has secured the first position in the 12th examination with 99.60 percentile or 498 marks out of 500, thus making the distinction.

However, his exploits do not end here. The topper now aims to crack the national level entrance exams JEE Mains 2022 and NEET 2022. A science student, Adhisha is studying Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology in school and is now preparing to take both engineering and medical entrance exams. She says she hasn’t decided between the two professions that will take a course based on purpose.

Inspired by her mother, a social worker, the teenager also wants to do something for the society. She has already appeared for WBJEE – the state level engineering entrance exam, however, it did not go ‘well’, claims the 17-year-old. “I appeared for WBJEE, however, there were only three days between HS exam and engineering admission. So my preparation got affected. I was unable to prepare or perform well in the state engineering exam in such a short span of time,” she said.

A student of Science stream, Adhisha used to devote around 4 to 5 hours a day to her studies. “I am not the kind who would sit for hours and study. I did take tuitions though,” Adhisha told News18. The 17-year-old took up pure science in her higher secondary. She referred the prescribed books in syllabus and test papers for her exam preparation, however, is not enrolled in any coaching institute.

Her favorite subject is Mathematics which she says that she wants to pursue in future, however, Adhisha says that she wants to do some honest work in future and helps the society in every possible way. While his mother is a social worker, his father is a primary school teacher.

He had secured 678 marks or 96.8 percent in his WB secondary examination. He completed 10th from Gopalnagar MSS High School, Cooch Behar.

The pass percentage in WB Higher Secondary Examination has been recorded as 88.44 percent. Students can get their mark sheet online wbresults.nic.in, wbchse.org and News18.com. The official marksheet will be issued by the board to the schools from June 20.

Adhisha is followed by Shayandeep Samant of Paschim Medinipur who has secured the second position. He secured 497 marks or 99.4 percent. This time 272 students have made it to the top 10. 4 students have secured rank 2. All of them have secured 99.2 percent marks. Rohin Sen of Path Bhawan, Kolkata, Soham Das of Hooghly, Abhik Das of East Burdwan and Paschim Parihar from Paschim Medinipur have secured rank 3 or 496 marks, which is 99.2 percent.
