Weather Update Today: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for several states in the coming days. Alongside heavy rainfall, warnings for storms and lightning have been issued for these areas. In North India, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh are expected to experience rain on October 9 and 10, accompanied by possible lightning and thunderstorms.
South India, too, will see heavy rain, with Tamil Nadu expecting rain from October 8 to October 11, South Karnataka on October 9 and 10 and Kerala on October 10 and 11.
Delhi-NCR Weather Update
Regarding the weather in Delhi-UP-Uttarakhand, the IMD predicts mainly clear skies on Sunday, with maximum and minimum temperatures around 36 and 22 degrees Celsius, respectively. Light rain may occur in Delhi on October 10, with minimum temperatures around 20 degrees and maximum temperatures around 37 degrees in the following days.
UP Weather Update
In Uttar Pradesh, there may be rain and thundershowers in Western Uttar Pradesh on October 9, but Eastern UP is expected to remain dry during this period. On October 10, some places in Western UP may experience rain and thundershowers, while October 11 is expected to be dry in both Western and Eastern UP.
The Meteorological Department anticipates sporadic rain in select Uttarakhand districts within the next 24 hours and there may be weather changes over the next 10 days, including a drop in temperature.
IMD made a significant announcement on Saturday regarding the withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon in several states in India. The statement read, “Conditions are favourable for further withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from remaining parts of East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh; some parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana; and some more parts of Maharashtra and Central Arabian Sea during next 2-3 days.”
