weather update: In view of the continuous rains in many parts of India, the Meteorological Department has issued Orange Alert for various states on Saturday. According to meteorologists, Orange Alert has been issued in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. Meteorological Department official Ajay Kumar Singh said that the monsoon is fully active in the country and has reached Punjab and Haryana ahead of time.

Western Disturbance has become active

Further, he informed that the Western Disturbance has become active and both the states (Punjab and Haryana) will receive rain on Saturday as well as Sunday.

‘Red alert’ issued for seven districts in Himachal Pradesh

The Meteorological Department on Saturday issued a ‘red alert’ for seven districts of Himachal Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has predicted extremely heavy rain on Sunday. Several roads were blocked in Shimla, Sirmaur, Lahaul and Spiti, Chamba and Solan districts due to landslides and flash floods in the state on Saturday.

The IMD said Delhi recorded 126.1 mm of rainfall between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, the highest in a day since 133.4 mm recorded on July 10, 2003.
