Bajrang Dal members attacked on the set of web series Ashram

Filmmaker Prakash Jha was molested, inked on his face, when a group of Bajrang Dal members created a ruckus on the sets of the shoot of his web series in Bhopal, police said.
In a video shot by witnesses on cellphones, members of the Bajrang Dal chasing the crew, managed to nab at least one of them and brutally thrash him with a metal light stand.

Members of right-wing group called ‘Prakash Jha’s web series’Hermitage‘ The Bobby Deol starrer was an attack on Hinduism and they would not allow its filming until the title was changed.
A Bajrang Dal leader said Mr. Jha, who is yet to file a complaint in the matter, has assured that he will change the name of the series.
The mob of Bajrang Dal members raised slogans of ‘Prakash Jha’ Murdabad“,” Bobby Deol Murdabad“And as “Jai Shri Ram” he attacked the sets in the Old Jail complex at Arera Hills in the evening.
“they created Hermitage 1, Hermitage 2 more were shooting Hermitage 3 here. Posted by Prakash Jha Hermitage That the Guru was abusing women. Do they have the guts to make such a film on a church or a madrasa? Who does he think he is?” Bajrang Dal leader Sushil Surhele said.
“Bajrang Dal challenged him, we will not let him make this film. Till now we have blackened Prakash Jha’s face. We are looking for Bobby Deol. He should learn something from his brother (Sunny Deol). He did such a thing. Made patriotic films,” he added.
Police have said that even though none of Mr. Jha’s team has leveled the charges, those involved will be identified and arrested.
Senior police officer Irshad Wali said, “Action will be taken against those who obstruct the shooting and damage the property today itself. They will be arrested.”
“The vehicles were vandalized by anti-social elements, causing trouble. The crew members of the ashram will be given security and it will be ensured that this does not happen again,” he said.
In 2017, the sets of Deepika Padukone-starrer ‘Karni Sena’ was attacked by another right-wing group.Padmaavat‘, attacking director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and other crew members and forcing the film to modify scenes and rename it’padmavati‘.
Earlier this year, Amazon had to apologize and make changes to its Saif Ali Khan-starrer web series.dance of fury’ After facing objections from some Hindu groups and the producers were threatened with arrest by the Uttar Pradesh government.
