WBSSC Scam: Maximum Illegal Recruitments Made for Bengali Teachers

According to a new list of 40 illegally recruited teachers for Classes 9 and 10 in government schools published by the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) following an order by the Calcutta High Court, the maximum number of illegal recruits for Bengali teachers Was.

Of the 40 candidates mentioned in the list, 21 candidates (52 per cent) were recruited as Bengali teachers. History comes second, 10 or 25 percent illegal recruitments.

Four illegal recruitments were made for English, three for Life Science and one each for Geography and Physics.

In the previous list of 183 “wrongly recommended candidates” published by WBSSC on December 2, the maximum number of illegal recruitments were made in English with 57, followed by Geography – 30, Life Science – 22, Bengali – 21, Mathematics and Physics – 18 each and history at the end – 17. All of them got appointments in 2016.

WBSSC has also published optical mark recognition sheets of 40 candidates in the new list and several OMR sheets show that the concerned candidates did not attempt one multiple choice question and attempted only a few questions.

However, all of them received recommendations for appointment as their scores on the commission’s servers were inflated to between “49 and 52” as per the findings of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) later, which was linked to the multi-crore teacher recruitment scam. is investigating.

Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay on Tuesday afternoon directed the WBSSC to file a fresh list of 40 candidates along with the OMR sheets, saying such manipulation could not be the handiwork of ghosts and definitely some people in the commission were involved.

According to the CBI’s submission in the court, a total of 21,000 candidates were illegally recruited in all categories of WBSSC and in the process over 9,000 OMR sheets were tampered with.
