Former Manchester United star, Wayne Rooney is about to start his first full season in charge at Derby County.

Football star Wayne Rooney has reportedly claimed he was blackmailed over a set of images of himself with three women online. The former England forward’s representatives believe he was ‘set-up’ and has reported to the police. According to daily Mail The Derby County boss has reportedly filed a complaint with Manchester Police after pictures of him went viral on social media on Sunday.

Rooney is seen sleeping in a chair in a hotel room with three unidentified women. It is still unclear when these photos were taken and there is no suggestion that the former England record goalkeeper knew what was going on around him or had behaved inappropriately.

The report also said that the series of photographs begins at the Chinwhite nightclub in the city before moving on to a hotel. The photographs allegedly taken were clicked without his consent, in which the 35-year-old is seen sleeping on a chair in a hotel room.

In the interim, representatives for Derby Boss confirmed that the matter had been reported to the police and that their lawyers have declined to comment on the nature of the images. Additionally, people close to the Derby boss have confirmed to the publication that the matter has now been handed over to Greater Manchester Police. However, a police spokesperson said that the department was not aware of the matter and there has been no intervention from the force so far.

Meanwhile, Rooney’s latest escape came when his side lost 2-1 to Salford in a pre-season friendly. The former Manchester United star is about to start his first full season in charge at Derby County. He replaced Philippe Cuckoo and warned that he would not be able to field a new team unless the club made significant signings.

Derby currently has nine registered senior players, two of whom are goalkeepers.
