This time the water inundation wreaked havoc in Maharashtra, MP, Rajasthan, Bihar and Himachal. In these 5 states, more than 8 lakh hectares of Kharif crops were destroyed due to floods. In rural areas, 8,169 roads were damaged and over 12 bridges and culverts were destroyed. Only six bridges were washed away in MP. About 5.50 lakh people from these 5 states have been shifted to safer places to save them from floods. Maharashtra has assessed a loss of Rs 11,000 crore and Himachal Rs 758 crore, while the remaining three states have not assessed.

In 5 districts of Rajasthan, Kota, Bundi, Baran, Sawai Madhepur, Jhalawar, the crop in about 4 lakh hectares has been damaged. Here soybean and urad crops have been damaged. In Gwalior-Chambal division of MP, the Kharif crop in 749 villages of 4 districts was completely destroyed in 80 thousand hectares. In Rajasthan, now the havoc of the weather has broken on Jhalawar district. Many roads connecting MP from here have been closed. 5 thousand people have been shifted to safe places.

In MP, 46 thousand people were shifted to a safe place in Morena, Sheopur and Datia. In Bihar’s 13 districts Gopalganj, East Champaran, West Champaran, Saran, Sheohar, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Madhubani Khagaria, Patna and Nalanda, a population of 17 lakh has been affected by the floods. Here one lakh 10 thousand people from the flood affected areas have been taken to a safe place. In Maharashtra, 21 districts were affected by the floods and 4.35 lakh people were shifted.
