This was before the start of the game when Kohli was entering the field for a few net sessions, while Bairstow was returning to the dressing room after his training. Both the batsmen shook hands and congratulated each other. He shared a brief conversation as soon as the video of the incident went viral on social media.

Kohli, who missed the series opener due to a swallow, returned to India’s playing XI for the Lord’s ODI.

Earlier, Kohli and Bairstow were involved in an on-field brawl during the rescheduled fifth Test match between India and England. On the third day, Bairstow was continuously beaten outside the off-stump by Mohammed Shami. Then Kohli told him something that he retaliated. This angered Kohli; After this he opened his tongue on the batsman.

Bairstow set foot on the accelerator followed by a scintillating century, while in the end, it was Kohli who took his catch and celebrated the wicket with a kiss.

However, India lost the match as Bairstow scored another century in the second innings to seal the game for the hosts.

Meanwhile, skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl in the second ODI as India aim to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

After missing the first ODI, Kohli regained his fitness and was back in the mix as Shreyas Iyer was dropped from the XI.

“We are going to bowl first. There is little grass but it seems that there is some moisture in the pitch. Considering the size of the field, we thought it was better to score on the board. Virat Kohli comes back for Shreyas Iyer,” Rohit said at the toss.
