New Delhi: The newly appointed Test vice-captain of the Indian cricket team, Rohit Sharma has stepped up his preparations before leaving for the South Africa tour.

After taking a break from India’s two-match Test series against New Zealand, Rohit is now looking to get back to life ahead of the South Africa tour. Team India has to play a three-match Test series on the tour of South Africa from 26 December.

Rohit Sharma on Friday posted a video on his Instagram account, in which he can be seen doing some intense batting exercises.

During practice, he is seen facing some fast bowlers with a lot of bounce, who could be similar to the South African fast bowlers in the near future. It looks like Rohit is practicing according to the conditions he might face in South Africa.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently appointed Rohit as the new vice-captain of the Test team. Along with this, he has also been entrusted with the captaincy of the ODI team.

The BCCI has selected an 18-member Indian team for India’s tour of South Africa, with Rohit as the new vice-captain. The star opener will replace Ajinkya Rahane.

Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara have also found place in the Test team while Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have returned to India’s Test team.
