WATCH: Thousands Join Rally Against Love Jihad, Religious Conversion in Mumbai

Mumbai: Hundreds of people on Sunday joined a massive rally march led by right-wing activists against ‘love jihad’ and demanded action against anti-conversion laws and land grab in the name of religion. The rally was supported by right wing organizations like Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).

The huge rally was organized by Sakal Hindu Samaj under the banner of Hindu Jan Aakrosh Morcha. It started from Shivaji Park in Dadar in central Mumbai and ended at Kamgar Maidan in Parel, covering a distance of over 4 km.

During the march, right-wing activists were seen raising slogans against “love jihad” and demanding an end to anti-conversion laws and land grabbing in the name of religion. The protest saw a large number of people carrying saffron flags and banners, demanding a law against “love jihad” and alleged conversions in the state.

Pictures and videos of the massive rally in Mumbai were shared by several users on Twitter.

A large number of police personnel were deployed along the route of the march to prevent any untoward incident. Earlier, members of Sakal Hindu Samaj protested against “love jihad”, alleged illegal conversions and cow slaughter in Maharashtra’s Pune on 22 January.

It may be noted that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had said last year that the government would study the laws on “love jihad” made by other states and take an appropriate decision.
