Sri Lankan cricketer Chamika Karunaratne was rushed to hospital after suffering a bizarre injury after he allegedly lost four teeth while trying to take a catch during a Lanka Premier League match on Wednesday. The incident happened during the LPL match between Kandy Falcons and Galle Gladiators in Galle.
Karunaratne, however, took a successful catch of Nuvanidu Fernando, who was batting on 13, but immediately covered his face but appeared to signal to his teammates that he was fine.

Earlier, Karunaratne was banned for one year by Sri Lanka Cricket for an alleged breach during the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia. He pleaded guilty to the charges and was also fined $5000 by the cricket board.
“Following the findings and recommendations of the Inquiry Panel, the Executive Committee of the SLC has imposed a ban of one year from participation in all forms of cricket and the said ban shall be suspended for a period of one year,” the SLC said. said in a statement.
