Rovman Powell scored 97 runs apart from taking one wicket and was declared player of the match
Dubai Capitals faced MI Emirates in Match 13 of the International League T20 on Sunday. Led by the exploits of skipper Rovman Powell, the Dubai-based club posted a staggering record total of over 200. The 29-year-old scored 97 runs in 41 balls in a blistering performance including a variety of shots.
He produced a majestic helicopter shot for a massive six.
The Capitals got off to a great start after MI Emirates won the toss and decided to bowl first. Opener Robin Uthappa scored 26 off 23 balls in an opening stand of 78 with Joe Root. After that, Root and Powell blasted on to give them the perfect platform for an onslaught.

Root smashed a 54-ball 82 while Powell missed his century by just three runs as his team finished with a mammoth 222/3 at the end of 20 overs.
It was a poor start for the Emirates as they lost their top-three inside the powerplay, including Nicholas Pooran hitting a five-ball duck.
Captain Kieron Pollard and Andre Fletcher handled their innings. Pollard scored 86 runs in 38 balls with the help of eight fours and six sixes while Fletcher remained unbeaten on 35 runs in 34 balls.
And then Najibullah Zadran scored a 9-ball 30 to bring Emirates closer. However, it was Dubai Capitals who registered a 16-run win.

Powell also won the player of the match award for his exploits on the field. He also claimed figures of 1/28 from two overs.
The Capitals ended their three-match losing streak with the win, securing four points from five matches in the international T20 league this season.
On the other hand, MI Emirates suffered their first defeat of the season against Dubai. Emirates are now third in the table with six points from four matches.
