As far as the batsmen are concerned, the first test proved to be good for the Indian team. Debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a record-breaking 171 for Manoran while skipper Rohit scored his 10th Test century. Virat Kohli was the third highest run-scorer for his team with a brilliant inning of 76 runs. Even though he missed out on his century, he showed a lot of composure to spend time at the crease.

Kohli will play his 500th international match from Thursday and will be hoping for another big score as he becomes the fourth Indian to achieve the feat and 10th overall.

West Indies need major improvement with both bat and ball to even come close to the Indian team, let alone dominate. After winning all 12 points in the first game, the two-time World Test Championship finalists would be hoping to win 12 more points to remain on top of the points table in the 2023-25 cycle.
