Indian young cricketer Ravi Bishnoi is causing a stir on the internet after he introduced a “desi style” of eating the popular Japanese dish – sushi rolls. In a clip shared by Bishnoi’s Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants on Instagram, the 22-year-old spinner can be seen picking up a piece of sushi with chopsticks. However, he could not even hold the stick properly.
After a few failed attempts, Bishnoi gave up and decided to take help with his own hands. In one of his most hilarious moves, the Rajasthan boy picked up a sushi roll with his left hand and shoved it into his mouth while hiding his face with the other hand.
Ravi Bishnoi’s hilarious antics undoubtedly left internet users in splits as they showered several laughing emojis in the comments section. One fan dubbed Bishnoi’s way of eating sushi “Rajasthani style”. Another fan tagged the style as “just a Bishnoi thing”. Supporting Bishnoi’s hand-picking, a user wrote, ‘We are desi. God has given us hands.
Ravi Bishnoi played Holi in the National on Wednesday 8 March Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru with some of his national teammates including Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar, Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Hooda. Chahal shared a few group pictures from the event, in which Bishnoi can be seen smiling along with his fellow cricketers.
Ravi Bishnoi shot to fame after showcasing his enigmatic bowling abilities in the 2019 U-19 World Cup. Due to his exceptional form in the tournament and some notable performances in the domestic circuit, the leg-spinner earned his first call-up to the senior India team in February 2022 for the T20I home series against the West Indies.
In the fifth game of the series, Bishnoi stole the show with best bowling figures of 4/16. So far, he has donned the blue jersey in 10 T20 matches and has taken a total of 16 wickets. Bishnoi had also represented India in an ODI against South Africa on home soil in October last year.
Ravi Bishnoi will make a comeback for Lucknow Super Giants in the upcoming Indian Premier League starting in March. In their first assignment of the campaign, Lucknow are set to host Delhi Capitals on April 1 at the Ikana Play City.
