The Indian women’s cricket team crashed out in the semi-finals of the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup after losing to Australia.

With the contest evenly drawn, an unfortunate incident involving Harmanpreet turned out to be the turning point from where Australia tightened their grip before clinching the victory. It was a run out for Harmanpreet as she went back to slog-swap it over deep midwicket for a second run.

However, when she was inches away from making her ground at the striker’s end, her bat got stuck on the pitch and wicket-keeper Alyssa Healy had all the time in the world to drop the bails. Replays showed Harmanpreet was well out of the crease and threw her bat in frustration, knowing it was time to go back.
