What Caused Hathras Stampede?

According to reports, after the ‘satsang’ was over, the crowd that had started leaving was stopped just as Bhole Baba’s envoy was passing. As soon as the convoy passed, the crowd was suddenly released due to which, the crowd from behind moved forward, trampling people in the front, causing a stampede.

An eyewitness, on the other hand, said that people started walking outside after the ‘satsang’ ended and fell into a drain located at the edge of the road built at a height, which caused panic and chaos.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased and the injured would be given Rs 50,000 each.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath said, “The state government will get to the bottom of this entire incident, whether this is an accident or a conspiracy, we will get to the bottom of it. Doing politics instead of expressing condolences on such an incident is extremely unfortunate and condemnable. The government is already sensitive in this matter and the government will get to the bottom of this matter and give appropriate punishment to the conspirators and those responsible for this incident.”
