Smith and Labuschagne may have missed the Big Bash League (BBL) playoff matches but the Aussies managed to watch the action-packed Challenger match between Sydney Sixers and Brisbane Heat from the comfort of their hotel room. The encounter ultimately proved to be a blissful one for Labuschagne. The top-order Test batsman celebrated his team Brisbane Heat’s four-wicket win against the Sydney Sixers in the BBL.
Smith looked completely dejected as his team Sydney Sixers failed to qualify for the finals. Labuschagne also tried to drag Smith into the celebration, but he was smart enough to just seem disinterested. Australian cricketer Matt Renshaw was also seen celebrating the victory with Labuschagne in his hotel room.
The footage soon became a huge talking point as fans and followers of the sport shared their thoughts on the jubilant celebration.

Coming back to the BBL fixture, Matthew Kuhnmann and Spencer Johnson took three wickets each to restrict the Sydney Sixers to a mammoth total of 116. Brisbane Heat suffered an early jolt after losing three wickets in quick succession during the run chase. Michael Neser eventually played a crucial unbeaten knock of 48 to hand the Heat a four-wicket win. The Heat will take on the Perth Scorchers in the BBL final on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Australia Test team will take on India in a four-match Test series starting February 9 in Nagpur. The Pat Cummins-led side will rely heavily on the batting of Smith and Labuschagne in the four-match Test series against India.
After the end of the Test series, a three-match ODI series will be played between India and Australia. The ODI series is to begin on March 17 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
