Jadeja, however, managed to dismiss Khawaja on the very next ball thanks to a brilliant catch by Shreyas Iyer. Australia, however, added to their lead, scoring 62 at the close of Day 2 with Travis Head scoring 39* and Marnus Labuschagne’s 16*.

India’s opener KL Rahul is going through a bad phase. The runs are not flowing and it showed during the second Test match against Australia in New Delhi where he was dismissed for 17 off 41 balls. Meanwhile, not only was he not able to bat properly, but he also had to struggle in the field as he was caught napping during the second Test match.

The incident happened in the sixth over of Australia’s second innings at the end of the second day. Ravindra Jadeja smacks a flighted delivery as Khawaja clears the front leg to power it to mid-wicket. Rahul was posted in the deep and had time to position himself well and block the boundary. But he failed to realize that the ball was well to his left and hence stood as a spectator from a distance, watching the ball roll towards the boundary ropes.

“Hopefully the batsmen come out and stay positive, stick to our methods. It’s going to set up for a good Test match,” Nathan Lyon, who was one of the bowlers to take his five-wicket haul for Australia, said at the end of the day’s play. Asked if 250 would be the target Enough said Offy, who became the only bowler to take 100 wickets against India, “anything more would be nice.”
