Toronto: Members of the Indian community, on Saturday (local time), gathered outside the consulate to protect their diplomats and the consulate office, and unitedly fight pro-Khalistan protests in Toronto, Canada. The NRIs were seen raising slogans such as “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, “Vande Mataram”, “Bharat Zindabad” and “Khalistan Murdabad” and carrying placards that read “Khalistanis are not Sikhs”, and ” Canada stop supporting Khalistanis “Canadian terrorists”.
In the purported video, pro-Khalistani protesters can be seen disrespecting the tricolor. Sunil Arora, one of the Indian expatriates in Canada said, “We are here in front of the consulate to confront the Khalistanis. We are here trying to stop the nonsense of the Khalistanis and we are here for the solidarity of India and Canada.” They are giving wrong information and saying that they will kill our diplomats which… and we are totally against it.

Another member of the Indian diaspora, Anil Shiringi, said that they are there to support the Indian consulate and stand against the threats by Khalistanis, which were given to Indian diplomats. Vidya Bhushan Dhar, another member of the Indian community standing in protest outside the consulate, said, “Canada is a peaceful country and we wanted to be peaceful and we should be.
