Pakistan cricketer Imam-ul-Haq was seen slamming his bat before throwing off the helmet after being dismissed during a domestic match.

Pakistan cricketer Imam-ul-Haq lost his composure during a Champions One-Day Cup 2024 game on Monday, September 16. Competing in Match 5 of the tournament, the left-handed batter produced an impressive knock for the Lions. He added 60 runs to his team’s chase before losing his wicket to his compatriot and Panthers skipper Shadab Khan. Following Imam’s dismissal, the cameras spotted the batter while he was returning to the dressing room.

A furious Imam was seen slamming his bat before throwing off his helmet. He then grabbed a seat in frustration and put both his hands on his face. A clip of his reaction was shared on X (formerly Twitter).

The match between Lions and Panthers took place at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. Imam-ul-Haq looked in good touch during the game providing the Lions a solid start. With the way he was batting, the left-handed batter looked all set for a century.

But on the first delivery of the 23rd over, Shadab Khan ensured that the Lions star could not add any more runs. Having brought himself to attack, Shadab bowled a delivery towards the off-stump that his Pakistan teammate tried to cut.

The ball ended up chipping Imam’s bat before being caught by the wicketkeeper. Extremely delighted with the important dismissal, Shadab celebrated the wicket wildly with his teammates.

Imam-ul-Haq had produced a solid knock, hitting five boundaries and two sixes during his stay. Imam’s brilliance with the bat kept the Lions in the game. His dismissal changed the scenario altogether as the side panicked and lost multiple wickets under pressure. In the first innings, the Panthers racked up a total of 283.

Mubasir Khan scored an unbeaten 90 alongside Haider Ali who added another 84. Shadab Khan was impactful in that innings, adding 37 runs off 29 balls while hitting five boundaries. His contributions across both innings led to the Panthers winning the game by 84 runs. The skipper won the Player of the Match award as well.

As for Imam-ul-Haq, the left-handed batter has made a huge impact for the Lions in the ongoing Champions One-Day Cup 2024. Despite being dropped from the national side, the 28-year-old has exhibited his flare in the tournament. This was his second successive half-century, following a 78-run knock against the Stallions last week. The Lions failed to win that match, conceding a 133-run defeat.
