While playing for Fluminense FC in Buenos Aires against Argentinos Junior, the Brazilian international was shown a red card and sent off in tears after an unfortunate turn of events.

Marcelo breaks Luciano Sanchez legs

The gut-wrenching moment came when Marcelo, known for his exceptional footwork, headed past Sanchez. However, in an unexpected twist, his lead foot went over the ball and accidentally hit the Argentinian player’s shin. The impact twisted Sanchez’s leg at an alarming angle, causing him to collapse on the pitch. The 29-year-old Argentine was in terrible pain, while Marcelo was visibly upset.

Marcelo gets red card

The two sides will encounter each other again next Tuesday at the Maracanã Stadium for a place in the quarter-finals.
