Olsen, Lyonne and Coon star as three estranged sisters who come together in a Manhattan apartment to care for their ailing father and attempt to mend their strained relationships.

There’s an exciting new film on the block about intense family dynamics, drama and emotional moments along with some light-hearted and funny scenes, all woven together within the simple and heartfelt plot of His Three Daughters. This is the story of three women, each of whom is extremely different from the other and has their own lives and beliefs. However, a less-than-happy situation brings them together once again in life. Actors Elizabeth Olsen, Natasha Lyonne and Carrie Coon explore some tangled and fragile family issues in the trailer for the Netflix drama written and directed by Azazel Jacobs.

This film is set to be released in select theatres on September 6 and will start streaming on Netflix soon. Olsen, Lyonne and Coon star as three estranged sisters who come together in a Manhattan apartment to care for their ailing father and attempt to mend their strained relationships.

A much-awaited trailer for the film has been released already and it gives us a glimpse of what the much-appreciated film at the Toronto Film Festival last year might have in store.

Natasha Lyonne plays Rachel, Carrie Coon plays Katie and Elizabeth Olsen plays Christina in the film. As viewers, we totally feel the tension, resentment and bond between the three sisters in the two-and-a-half-minute clip. The trailer opens with Rachel smoking. She is approached by a police officer, who knows her by name, telling her she can’t smoke outside.

“It’s my bitch ass sister. She’s trying to tell me the smoke is killing our dad,” Rachel says. “How is Vinnie?” the officer asks. “He’s dying, but not ’cause of my weed smoke,” Rachel jokes back.

“You will need each other. It’s good that there are three of you,” a voiceover says in the trailer. “It’s nice that it’s us,” Olsen says to her sisters, reflecting on their time together. “This is the way that it should be — the way he would want it.”

Later, when discussing their dad’s obituary, Lyonne jokingly says, “Married a couple of crazy bitches, raised a few crazy bitches.”

“A riveting, funny and touching portrait of family dynamics starring Carrie Coon, Natasha Lyonne and Elizabeth Olsen as estranged sisters who reunite to care for their ailing father,” reads the official description of the film’s trailer on YouTube.
