Ward 37 is the largest, 22 is the smallest among the 52 new wards. Nagpur News – Times of India

Nagpur: According to the geographical area in the new 52 wards, there is a lot of variation in the new arrangement of three corporators in each ward. Ward no. 37 is the biggest in west Nagpur while ward no. 22 is the smallest in terms of area in central Nagpur.
Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B will make the boundaries and areas of the new 52 wards public on Tuesday. The information will be made available on NMC website (www.nmcnagpur.gov.in), Election Department, NMC Headquarters at Civil Lines and offices of all the ten zones. People can submit suggestions and objections by February 14, followed by hearings by February 26 and the State Election Commission (SEC) on March 2.
Since the delimitation of wards is done on the basis of population, the disparity in the geographical area of the wards is inevitable. According to experts, this causes inconvenience to the people in reaching out to the corporators and the latter in getting the work done in the wards with huge area.
The average population in the wards is 47,067. The lowest population ward number is 41,962. 14. Maximum population of 51,366 in North Nagpur Ward no. 51 in South Nagpur.
Ward no. There will be 37, 47,374 voters but it will be the largest in area as it is from MIDC Hingna T-point to Swami Vivekananda Memorial to Sudam Nagri from Hill Top to Ram Nagar Square to Laxmi Bhuvan Square to Law College Square to Futala T. – From Air Force Nagar to the end of the city at Wadi and back to MIDC Hingna T-Point.
This ward will include both the big lakes of the city – Ambazari and Phutla.
Ward no. 22 is the smallest in size but has a population of 50,998. This is because it includes Mominpura, Hansapuri and surrounding areas in central Nagpur, which are very congested.
Radhakrishnan, Additional Municipal Commissioner Ram Joshi and Deputy Commissioner Nirbhay Jain have received appreciation from the SEC for not breaking major obstructions like inner ring road, railway line, big drain etc. in the demarcation wards.
Of the 52 wards, 12 are located completely outside the Inner Ring Road, but this will require huge funds as these comprise most of the undeveloped areas. Very few parts of the five wards are located outside the Inner Ring Road, the majority of which are inside. These wards are 39, 41, 1, 18 and 19.
This time the wards are very different as compared to the current demarcation, which was for four corporators in a ward.
