Firing continues unabated in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv and several Indian students are trapped there. With the hope of returning home, the students are also struggling to save their lives. Students are trying to reach the border after traveling hundreds of kilometers even in freezing cold. Thousands of students arrive at the Romanian border on Tuesday, but the students are fighting hunger, thirst and lack of money as well as the cold.

Mohammad Zaid Saddagi, son of Dr MI Saddagi, who lives in BRS Nagar, Ludhiana, went to Aveeno Frankieve National Medical College University in Aveeno City to study MBBS. Due to the beginning of the war, he struggled continuously with hunger and thirst in the bunker of the university hostel for 5 days.

To save his life, Zaid and his friends gathered courage and walked on foot in minus 4 degree Celsius temperature. While walking on Sunday night, he reached the border of Romania and after walking for 2 days reached the border of Romania on Tuesday morning. From there Zaid called, then the family came to life.

Zaid told that they are staying near some airport. Some NGOs are certainly helping them, but due to the cold, many students are in bad condition. The family members are constantly tying up their courage. Students are also encouraging their families, with the hope that they will return to their homeland soon. Government of India will take them out safely.

Thousands of Punjabi students stranded near Russia’s border

Mansi Kundal and Prabhneet Kaur, residents of Vishwakarma Nagar, are also stuck in Ukraine. Both have been studying together since 5th standard. In the year 2018, both of them went to study together at the State University of Sumy City, Ukraine. Mansi’s father is a teacher, while Prabhneet’s father is an ASI in Punjab Police.

After the Russian attack, both the friends have been hiding in the basement of the hostel for 6 days. For 2 days they did not get anything to eat. The money has run out. The family members also told that they are forbidden to light electricity there. With him, more than 100 students of Punjab are hiding in the basement to save their lives.
