Vodafone and Ericsson partner to show how 5G can help transform healthcare in India – Times of India

As part of the ongoing 5G trials in India, Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) and ericsson Ltd. has partnered to show how 5G technology can help revolutionize the healthcare sector in India by enabling access to healthcare in remote parts of the country.
5G test network established by vodafone (vi) Based in Pune on the 3.5 GHz mid band and 26 GHz mmWave band allocated by the government, Ericsson Radio and Ericsson dual mode core based on cloud native technology which includes 5G SA, 5G NSA and LTE packet core functions.
Based on the high data speed, low latency and reliability of 5G, a doctor based in an urban center can actually perform an ultrasound scan on a patient who is in a remote rural location. It is being tested by Vodafone using Ericsson’s 5G infrastructure.
“Vi has developed a 5G ready network built on India’s fastest Vi GIGAnet network verified by Ookla. Now with our 5G trials, we are looking to provide healthcare in remote parts of the country, among a range of other uses. We are leveraging the power of 5G for 5G. Matters for enterprises and consumers. Speed and latency are critical to 5G services, and therefore, our focus has been on achieving throughput that is relevant to 5G usage for the Digital India of tomorrow. can enable cases effectively,” said Jagbir Singh, CTO, vodafone-idea.
As part of the ongoing demonstrations, Wii and Ericsson also demonstrated 5G with Enhanced Mobile Broadband (EMBB) and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) applications.
“Advanced mobile broadband and fixed wireless access are expected to be the initial use cases for 5G in India. Over time, we expect enterprises to reap the benefits of 5G in sectors such as healthcare, manufacturing, education, etc. related to More use cases will emerge. The flexible dual mode core set up by Ericsson with V in Pune is helping enterprises leverage the network to deploy use cases such as remote video monitoring, telemedicine, digital twin, AR /VR etc. Amarjit Singh, Vice President, Ericsson said.
Ericsson’s 5G Business Compass report estimates the total 5G-enabled B2B opportunity for Indian operators across 10 industries to reach $17 billion by 2030. The top industries that are expected to leverage 5G for their digitization include healthcare, manufacturing, energy and utilities. Motor vehicles and public safety.
