Vistara offers more services at an additional charge of Rs 499
Vistara said it will offer more services for customers traveling in economy and premium economy class starting Tuesday for a small, flat additional fee of Rs 499. Till now, an economy class passenger in Vistara could avail services like a free change in ticket up to 72 hours of departure and traveling with an additional 5 kg of checked-in baggage by paying an additional fee of Rs 999.
On Tuesday, the additional charges for economy class passengers were reduced from Rs 999 to Rs 499. In addition, such passengers can now make unlimited free changes to the ticket up to 24 hours after departure.
“The introduction of these enhanced benefits comes directly in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic to give passengers maximum flexibility and control over their travel plans,” the carrier’s press release said.
The additional charge so far for premium economy class passengers was Rs 1,199, allowing them to avail services such as an additional 10 kg of checked-in baggage during the journey and two free changes in ticket up to 48 hours after departure.
On Tuesday, the additional charge for premium economy class passenger was also reduced to Rs 499. In addition, such fliers can now make unlimited free changes to the ticket up to 24 hours after departure.
The carrier said in its press release that business class passengers will now be able to make unlimited free change for up to 12 hours after departure.
Until now, business class passengers were allowed two free changes up to 24 hours after departure. The airline said that business class passengers are not charged any additional charges for availing these benefits.
All these changes have been made in Vistara’s ‘Freedom Fairs’ programme, a menu-based pricing model that was launched in July 2018, providing services on a pay-for-what-you-value basis .
