Vistara cancels multiple flights for February, offers affected passengers waiver of conversion charges for rescheduling

Vistara airline had canceled several flights for the month of February, while many more were rescheduled due to low demand, aviation sources revealed on Sunday. There are many complaints from the affected passengers due to cancellation and rescheduling of flights.

A passenger on Twitter also expressed concern over the unavailability of Vistara’s customer care.

“Dear Vistara Airlines You have canceled a ticket from New Delhi to Bhubaneshwar on 5th Feb. Your customer care number is a cheap gimmick. No one responds and it is busy since 48 hours. Please refund full amount as soon as possible. Do it,” tweeted Shibasish Prusty, a scientist at the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

Responding to the same, Vistara spokesperson on Monday informed that they are offering waiver of conversion fee for one-time rescheduling on all direct bookings with travel till March 31.

A Vistara spokesperson said, “Following a sharp drop in demand for air travel, a rise in COVID-19 numbers and restrictions imposed by various state governments, we are seeing a marginal increase in traffic in February as compared to the previous month. “

“However, given the volatility, we continue to closely monitor the situation and adjust capacity for demand. With the aim of minimizing inconvenience to customers, we are offering one-time rescheduling on all direct bookings with travel. We are offering waiver of conversion fee till March 31,” he said.

Vistara also said that they will assist affected customers with rescheduling, refunds etc., as applicable. Due to a rise in Covid omicron cases, demand for air travel plummeted, forcing airlines to rework their domestic schedules – and even cancel flights.

Recently, the country’s largest airline IndiGo had announced to withdraw 20 per cent of its scheduled flights due to low demand. Full-service carrier Vistara had said it was adjusting capacity with changing demand, and, an Air India official said, adding that some flights on routes with multiple daily services were being merged based on load factors. .
