Visakhapatnam: Ahead of PM Modi’s flag-off event, stones pelted on Vande Bharat train | Watch

In another incident, stones were pelted at the Vande Bharat train in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. According to the news agency ANI, the accident happened when the train was standing for maintenance. Also, this was the same train that was to be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 19.

According to the Divisional Railway Manager, The windshield of a coach of Vande Bharat Express was damaged near Kancharapalem, Visakhapatnam and an investigation is already underway.

This is not the first time miscreants have targeted a train

Earlier, in the first week of the month, the newly-inaugurated Howrah-New Jalpaiguri semi-high-speed train was vandalized by some miscreants. The incident was reported only two days after PM Modi flagged off the train via video conferencing.

Later, the Eastern Railway said that after scanning the video footage, it was found that the incident of stone-pelting on the train took place in Malda district on January 2 and in Bihar’s Kishanganj district the next day.
