Viral fever increased significantly in Ballia, cases increased by 25% in district hospital

Amid fears of dengue outbreak, a hospital doctor said on Sunday that there has been a 25 per cent increase in viral fever cases in the district hospital here in the last 10 days. Medical superintendent of the hospital Dr VP Singh said that the children’s ward is full of patients. “It is the rainy season when fever, weakness, body aches and diarrhea increase in patients, and this is quite natural.”

Dr JS Kumar, a pediatrician posted at the district hospital, said, “There has been a 25 percent increase in the number of viral fever patients in the last 10 days.

District Magistrate Aditi Singh said that all gram panchayats and urban local bodies have been instructed to spray anti-larva and pay special attention to cleanliness.

Dr Tanmay Kakkar, Chief Medical Officer, Ballia said that all necessary precautions are being taken.

“140 patients are being tested daily in the district hospital. Most of these people are typhoid patients. There have been no deaths due to dengue or viral fever and at present there are nine dengue patients in the district,” the CMO said. .

He said that all possibilities of waterlogging in the affected villages are being removed and anti-larva spray is being done.
