Genesis Gas Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Vikas Lifecare, has received the first ever order for Ultrasonic Meter Gas Meters. Vikas Lifecare said in a regulatory filing that Genesis will supply ultrasonic gas meters to both industrial and commercial gas customers.

The company has signed an agreement with Germany-based Sick AG, a global manufacturer of sensors and sensor solutions for industrial applications.

Under the Rs 30 million deal, the meters supplied by Genesis will be part of Field Regulating Skids (FRS) used by various major city gas distribution companies.

Ultrasonic meters are considered to be the highest in efficacy in terms of accuracy and reliability. These meters obtain the volumetric flow rate of a gas by measuring the transit time of high-frequency sound waves.

Industry experts say that these meters are required on large diameter gas pipelines, where using mechanical drive meters is a commercial disadvantage.

Genesis Gas was established in 2017. It is a leader in smart gas and water metering. The company has about 20 per cent share of domestic gas metering in the country. Meanwhile, Vikas Lifecare shares closed up 3 per cent during Wednesday’s trade.
