Vijay Antony’s first social media post after an accident on Pichaikkaran 2’s set

Tamil actor-composer Vijay Antony, who recently met with an accident on the sets of his upcoming Tamil directorial debut Pichaikaran 2 in Malaysia, has shared that he has undergone major surgery. He shared a tweet on Tuesday saying that he had suffered an injury to his nose and jaw, for which he underwent surgery. Vijay was injured while filming an action sequence on Langkawi Island. As per reports, the actor was riding a boat, which lost control and rammed a bigger boat carrying the camera crew and setup.

He was immediately taken to the hospital in Kuala Lumpur. Vijay shared a thumbs-up picture from the hospital bed. Thanking everyone for their prayers and concern, he wrote, “Dear friends, I have recovered safely from a severe jaw and nose injury sustained while shooting for Pichaikaran 2 in Malaysia. I just completed a major surgery. I will talk to all of you soon. Thank you all for your support and concern for my health.

Last week, filmmaker Dhananjayan issued an update that there was nothing to worry about and that the Salim actor was stable.

The tweet penned by the producer read: “Happy to inform that Vijay Anthony is making a speedy recovery from the accident injury. He is under observation at the hospital in Langkawi and his family has reached and is with him. They will call him soon to bring him to Chennai. Let’s pray for his speedy recovery and return to action.

Vijay is working on the sequel of Sasi’s well-known and popular Tamil drama Pichaikaran. Apart from Vijay, the film also stars John Vijay, Harish Beradi, YG Mahendran, Ajay Ghosh and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles. Apart from directing, Vijay is also producing and composing the music for the film.
