Vigilance inquiry order, RTI activist wrote letter to Chief Secretary Ludhiana News – Times of India

Ludhiana: City Based right to Information worker Rohit Sabharwal A letter has been written to the Chief Secretary of Punjab demanding a vigilance inquiry into the matter.
Referring to the findings of the detailed investigation report submitted by Rishipal Singh, Additional Commissioner MC, he mentioned that in the last five years, the civic body has suffered a loss of crores during which 57,862 buildings were constructed without issuing any challan or without approval of building plans by the MC.
He also claimed that top to bottom officials in the building branch did not cooperate in the investigation as they did not perform their duty properly. Further, after inspecting the files of challans issued by the building inspectors in the last five years, it was found that out of the total 11,441 challans issued, the officials did not mention any category of 9,699 challans. Further, the proper address is not mentioned in the challan files.
Demanding a thorough probe into the matter, Rohit Sabharwal informed that more than two months have passed since the inquiry officer submitted the inquiry report to the Municipal Commissioner, but till now no action has been taken on this report.
