The IAS officer expressed delight seeing Raghu and Bommi growing quickly under the care of dedicated mahouts and cavadys at Theppakadu Elephant Camp.

Bommi and Raghu, the elephant calves featured in the Oscar winning documentary The Elephant Whisperers, have grown up and are leading healthy lives at Mudumalai National Park in Tamil Nadu. Recently, Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Supriya Sahu shared a glimpse of the two elephants in an X (Formerly Twitter) post and revealed that she regularly visits them at the park. The government officer expressed delight seeing the young elephants growing quickly under the care of dedicated care takers at Theppakadu Elephant Camp. Her social media post quickly went viral and garnered praise from wildlife enthusiasts for her dedication to meet these young elephants in the reserve despite her busy schedule.

In the post shared on social media platform, Sahu can be seen spending time and interacting with the elephants. She even treats Bommi and Raghu with a whole stick of sugarcane. Sharing a video of her interaction with the gentle giants, the IAS officer wrote, “No trip is complete to Nilgiris without meeting Bommi and Raghu who are growing up fast at our Theppakadu elephant camp under the loving care of our committed Mahouts and Cavadys. Take your kids this summer to Mudumalai to meet these beautiful young elephants.”

Supriya Sahu’s post on X featuring her interaction with Bommi and Raghu has quickly gone viral and garnered over 26,000 views. Social media users have been impressed by her dedication to visit the elephant calves.

A user expressed delight seeing Supriya Sahu enjoying her work and called it their dream job to be surrounded by wildlife and greenery.
