Chhath Puja Celebrations in Australia and America
Today is the last day of Chhath festival. Devotees observing the fast of Chhath conclude the festival by offering arghya to the rising sun. Chhath Mahaparv is celebrated for a full four days and Chhath Puja is celebrated with great pomp in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand and Eastern Uttar Pradesh. However, Chhath videos are being celebrated in foreign countries winning hearts online. Several videos of people celebrating the festival in Melbourne, Australia and New Jersey in the US have surfaced on the Internet. In the video going viral on social media, a large number of devotees have gathered at Chhath Ghat in the city.

‘Chhath’ is celebrated in all sections of society across the world where people from Bihar or Purvanchal regions of Bihar, Jharkhand and Eastern Uttar Pradesh celebrate Chhath after Diwali by offering ‘Arghya’ to women by fasting . Sun god in knee-deep water. It involves elaborate rituals lasting three days.
The fast begins with ‘Kharna’ on Tuesday and then ends with the second offering on Wednesday to the setting sun at sunrise on Thursday.
Chief minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar He has also given “Argh” to the rising sun at his official residence in Patna. His relatives performed Chhath Puja. Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi was in his native village Barauli under Belshund village of Gopalganj district to take part in the festival. His sister-in-law celebrated Chhath festival.
