Violence broke out in Kanpur on Friday after Friday prayers. The dispute started with the closure of the shop. The situation got so bad that for 5 hours there was nuisance on the roads. Firing also took place. Thousands of people from both the communities took to the road. It became difficult for the police to handle. Both the sides started throwing stones at each other. Stone pelting continued in front of the police. Whenever the police gathered courage and ran, the miscreants would enter the streets.

First video: A crowd of more than 100 people gathered near Beaconganj, Kanpur
The time was around 2.20 pm. Beconganj of Kanpur, where till now the atmosphere was very peaceful, suddenly a crowd of more than 100 people gathered there.
Second video: stones between the two communities
The time was around 2.50 pm. After the Friday prayers, there was a ruckus about the closure of the market. The people of Hindu-Muslim side came face to face. Both sides started pelting stones.
Third video: The mob also pelted stones at the police
On getting information about the riots, Police Commissioner Vijay Singh Meena, Joint Commissioner Anand Tiwari also reached the spot along with the police force. The mob also started throwing stones at the police.
Fourth video: More than 18 people arrested
The police started firing to control the crowd. There was lathi charge. The whole area was cordoned off. Those who created the riot are being identified. So far more than 18 people have been arrested.
Fifth video: Police’s high alert
Around 7:10 pm in the evening. The lights of the entire Bekenganj locality were cut off. Police is patrolling the entire locality. Heavy police force is deployed in the area.
