Veteran Malayalam actress KPAC Lalitha has been admitted to the hospital for multiple health issues and is under the supervision of a team of doctors. The 74-year-old actress, who is also the president of Kerala Sangeet Natak Akademi, has been unwell for a few weeks and was admitted to a hospital in Thrissur.
Association of Malayalam Movie Artists secretary Adavela Babu said that she has been unwell for some time.
Babu said, “She is now admitted to a hospital in Kochi and her condition is better today. She has diabetes and also has liver problems. Her daughter has now come from Pune and is with her.”
Lalitha is the wife of Bharathan, one of the most popular directors of Kerala, who passed away in 1998.
In his acting career that began in 1978, he has acted in more than 550 films till date and has won two National Film Awards apart from four State Film Awards.
His son Siddharth is also an actor and has directed a few films.
