In Varanasi, the matter of Advocate Commissioner will be heard today in the case of survey of Gyanvapi campus related to Maa Shringar Gauri. The court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) Ravi Kumar Diwakar will pronounce the verdict. The respondent Anjuman Arrangements Masajid Committee had given an application in the court regarding the Advocate Commissioner Ajay Kumar Mishra appointed for the survey of the Gyanvapi campus. The Masajid Committee says that the Advocate Commissioner was not doing the survey work in a fair manner. So the court should appoint someone else as the commissioner.

Earlier, during the hearing held in the court on Monday, the plaintiff-defendant side and the Advocate Commissioner had presented their arguments. The plaintiff’s side said that the Advocate Commissioner is doing his job properly and the defendants are making false allegations to obstruct the survey work. Videography and verification should be allowed inside Gyanvapi Masjid. Today, on the arguments of the plaintiff, the defendant side will present its arguments again. After that the court will give its decision.

Survey started on 6th May
Advocate Commissioner Ajay Kumar Mishra, appointed on the orders of the court, started the survey of Gyanvapi campus on the afternoon of 6 May in the presence of both the parties. On the very first day, there was uproar and sloganeering regarding the survey. The Muslim side alleged that the Advocate Commissioner is conducting survey as a party like the plaintiff side. The survey work resumed on the afternoon of 7 May. The plaintiffs alleged that more than 500 Muslims were present in the mosque and they were not allowed inside for the survey. Because of this, he is leaving the survey and will now present his side in the court on 9 May.

Case was filed in August-2021
Five women, including Rakhi Singh, had filed a case in the district court of Varanasi in August 2021. It was demanded from the court that permission should be given for regular darshan-worship of Maa Shringar Gauri. Along with this, a demand was also made from the court for the protection of other deities located in the Gyanvapi complex. The respondent in this case was made Chief Secretary Civil, DM Varanasi, Police Commissioner Varanasi, Chief Manager of Anjuman Arrangements Masajid Committee and Secretary of Baba Vishwanath Trust through Uttar Pradesh Government.

After hearing the arguments of both the sides and perusing the files, the court had summoned the report on May 10 by appointing an advocate commissioner for the survey of the Gyanvapi campus. At present, the survey work has not been completed, due to which it seems impossible to present the report in the court today.
