Greater Noida: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (rub) will set up specific zones to accommodate 200 vendors in five areas, a move that will free up city streets that are eating away hawkers and the primary reasons are traffic jam.

“We are working on setting up vending zones in five sectors of Greater Noida. A total of 200 vendors will be accommodated there. GNIDA CEO Narendra Bhushan said, cost estimates are being prepared and tenders will be floated in about two months.
The senior official said that the construction will start soon after the companies are selected. “We want these zones to be ready by the end of 2021 so that vendors and residents of Greater Noida can be given a New Year gift. It will also add to the beauty of the city and give it a distinct identity.”
If the project is successful, GNIDA will set up vending zones in other areas as well. “When these modern vendor markets are set up, the roads of Greater Noida and its green belt will be free from encroachment by hawkers,” said a GNIDA official.
