David Dhawan was admitted to the hospital a few days back after having some health issues due to diabetes. The filmmakers, who last remade Coolie No 1 with their sons Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan, were immediately rushed to the hospital. Varun Dhawan, who was busy with his work commitments, dropped everything to be with her. The director has now been discharged, and is recovering at home. Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan is busy these days in the promotion of his upcoming film ‘Jugjug Jio’. Now, during a recent promotion, Varun spoke about being busy with work even though his father was unwell.
Speaking to ETimes, Varun said, “People love my dad and we have brought him back home now. It is difficult to work when your father is not well, but my father always wants me to fulfill my commitments. He is recovering at home now.”
A source told the same publication that David’s sons Varun and Rohit are also taking care of him. The source quipped, “Lali Dhawan (Varun’s mother) was taking care of David Dhawan in the hospital during the day, while Rohit and Varun were there at night.” The report also mentioned that Varun was actually shooting a film abroad when his father was hospitalized, and Varun took the first available flight to be with him.
Earlier, David Dhawan himself had confirmed that he is ‘feeling better’. The filmmaker is now at home.
David Dhawan recently attended the promotions of Jugjug Jio with Varun Dhawan when the two danced to a Punjabi song from the film. Varun Dhawan captioned the video, “Have fun doing #famstep with my dad. Since Wedding Banger #naachpunjaabban is out, now send your reels with your family or loved ones #jugjuggjeeyo.”
Varun Dhawan, on his work front, has several films in his kitty apart from Jugjug Jio, including Amar Kaushik’s Bhediya with Kriti Sanon and Sriram Raghavan’s Ekis. The actor will reportedly also make his web debut with the Indian spin-off of Citadel. He will star opposite Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and will be directed by Raj and DK, who have previously made films like The Family Man and Ek Gentleman.
