Vande Bharat Express attacked with stones in West Bengal AGAIN, Window panes damaged

Two window panes of the Vande Bharat Express train were damaged after stones were allegedly pelted at two coaches near Phansideva area of ​​Darjeeling district on Tuesday, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) said. This is the second attack as earlier on Monday, window panes of the Vande Bharat Express were smashed on a train connecting Howrah to New Jalpaiguri near Malda. The RPF commander said that the incident took place near Phansidewa area of ​​Darjeeling district.

“Windows of coaches C3 and C6 of Vande Bharat Express were found damaged due to stone pelting. It was found that the windows were damaged near Phansideva area of ​​Darjeeling district when the train was moving towards New Jalpaiguri,” he said.

“Train No. 22302 Down (Vande Bharat Express) arrived at MLDT on 3rd January at about 5.57 p.m. On checking, marks of stone pelting were found on the glass surface of Coach No. C-3 and C-6. On enquiry, it was found that That at about 13.20 a.m. when the said train was going in up direction towards NJP, stone pelting incident took place in both C-3 and C-6 coaches in yard area before reaching NJP.RPF/POST/SAMSI,DIV-Katihar, Incident under NFR took place at Kumarganj station yesterday i.e. on 02.01.2023, as a result of which a case was registered under Section-154 of the Railway Act,” the RPF release said.
