New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind On Saturday, he said he was deeply pained to learn that an unfortunate stampede claimed the lives of devotees in Mata Vaishno Devi Building in Jammu and Kashmir and expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
“I wish the injured a speedy recovery,” he said.
At least 12 people were killed and 20 others injured in a stampede at the famous temple due to huge crowd of devotees.
The stampede took place near gate number three outside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple atop Trikuta hills.
“Very distressed to learn that an unfortunate stampede claimed the lives of devotees” Mata Vaishno Devi Building. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. I wish the injured a speedy recovery,” Kovind tweeted.
