Joshimath is just the tip of the iceberg. In a series of tweets, Mehbooba said environmental disasters lie in wait in ecologically fragile states like Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Amarnath and Vaishno Devi.

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Monday slammed the government for its “negligence” in not limiting the number of pilgrims and expanding roads in Jammu and Kashmir, and warned that Amarnath and Vaishno Devi could face a Joshimath-like situation. Is.

The former Chief Minister said that the devastation caused by land subsidence in Joshimath is not an alarm bell for the government.

“Sadly, the devastation in Joshimath did not serve as a wake-up call to the Government of India. They lack vision and can only incite communal tension to divert public attention from their failures.”

The gateway to famous pilgrimage sites like Joshimath, Badrinath and Hemkund Sahib and international skiing destination Auli, is facing a major challenge due to land subsidence.
