Vadodara Registers 140 New Covid Cases | Vadodara News – Times of India

VADODARA: The city and district registered a total of 140 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday. On Saturday, the new cases had come down to 123 from Friday’s high when number of fresh cases stood at 152.
The results were from 2,123 samples that were tested in 24 hours starting from Saturday evening. With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic has touched 1,37,228.
Of the fresh cases, maximum – 42 – were reported from Vadodara rural. Within the city limits, west and south zones of Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) registered 34 new cases each while east and north zones registered 17 and 13 new cases respectively.
The new cases were reported from Ektanagar, Akota, Atladara, Bapod, Bhayli, Chhanni, Diwalipura, Fatehpura, Gokulnagar, Gotri, Gorwa, Harni, Jetalpur, Kapurai, Makarpura, Manjalpur, Navapura, Navayard, Navi Dharti, Panigate, Ramdevnagar, Swad, Siyabaug, Subhanpura, Tandalja among other areas of the city and district.
The official death toll, however, stands at 757. On Sunday, with 86 patients declared as discharged, the total number of discharged patients touched 1,35,727.
The number of active cases now stand at 744, of which 705 are under home isolation and 39 in hospitals. Of those hospitalized, only four require oxygen support. A total of 560 individuals are under quarantine.
