Vadivelu’s Vamma Minnal fame Deepa to return to Tamil cinema after 20 years

Actress Deepa, who plays the memorable Minnal in Mai, is all set to return to the Tamil film industry after a long gap of 20 years. The actor revealed in her latest interview that she is entering Tamil cinema with a soulful role in her upcoming film Raja Vasam. The family drama is directed by Kathir.

Deepa said in her interview that she is confident that her role will be highly appreciated by the public and she will get more good roles in the sandalwood film industry. The film is set to hit the screens on November 26.

Apart from Sasikumar and Nikki Galrani in lead roles, the film also stars Yogi Babu, Sumitra, Vijaykumar, Radha Ravi, Nirosha, Manobala and Singam Puli.

The scene from which Deepa gained popularity is where Vadivelu goes in search of a potential bride. The girl’s father asks her to congratulate the groom and his friend, played by Sarathkumar. Minnal, the girl played by Deepa, appears and disappears like a thunderbolt, leaving Vadivelu out.

The scene is one of the superstar’s most famous acts and still causes laughs. Vadivelu’s absolute brilliance and Deepa’s quirky performance made the scene utterly epic. After this film, Deepa turned to the small screen and appeared in various TV shows.

Talking about her personal life, she fell in love with Ramesh and tied the knot in 2013. But due to irreconcilable differences, the relationship roughly ended and the two parted ways.

The actor married Subramani on August 24 last year in the presence of close friends and family due to the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.
