Uttar Pradesh: Woman raped inside public toilet in Pratapgarh. Lucknow News – Times of India

An FIR has been registered for rape and efforts are on to arrest the accused.

Lucknow: A 20-year-old woman was allegedly raped on March 19 in a toilet outside the parking stand of Pratapgarh railway station. Police have registered an FIR and investigation is on.
Kotwali SHO RN Rai said the woman was waiting to board the train to go to Ahmedabad with her husband. However, her husband had gone out to buy some food items.
Explaining the sequence of the incident, SHO RN Rai said, “After sometime, the victim went to the nearby washroom, but seeing that it was full, she returned and sat near the ticket counter.”
In the meantime, the accused approached and asked the victim, who looked worried, whether she needed any help, Rai said. The victim told the accused that she was looking for the washroom.
Thereafter, the accused gave the key to the other washroom to the victim and asked her to use it.
The victim, unaware of the nefarious intentions of the accused, took the key and as soon as she opened the lock of the toilet door, the accused also entered inside the toilet and locked it from inside. Then attacked him several times. Hearing the screams of the survivors, locals rushed to help and the accused fled,” said the SHO.
An FIR has been registered for rape and efforts are on to arrest the accused.
