Lucknow: A case of alleged rape of a seven-year-old girl has come to light in Ayodhya district on Wednesday night.
The victim is being treated at a government hospital.
“The culprit has been identified as Ram Manjhi and has been arrested and sent to jail,” the police said.
Ayodhya Superintendent of Police Shailesh Pandey said, “On Wednesday evening, the victim was playing hide and seek with other children of her age group. However, when she did not come even after several hours, her parents launched a search operation. did.”
Meanwhile, the victim was found lying in a pool of blood at around 9.30 pm in Mohalla Bairag Pura of the local Kotwali police station area.
Later the police was informed and the victim was admitted to the hospital.
Pandey said a massive search was registered and based on the CCTV footage the accused was spotted and arrested late.
The accused working nearby found the victim alone and took her to a secluded place where he raped her.
The SP said, ‘When the victim raised an alarm, the accused fled.
The doctors of the hospital told that the condition of the victim is critical.
He has sustained injuries on his private parts and has suffered severe blood loss.
