Locals rushed to the rescue and helped the couple get out of the manhole

A policeman and his wife fell into a drain filled with rain water on their way to a hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh. Police told news agency ANI that local people came to their aid in time but the couple suffered some injuries.
A video of the incident shows the couple riding a bike on a water-logged road when their vehicle suddenly collides into an open manhole, knocking both riders down. Locals rushed to the rescue and helped the couple get out of the manhole.

Policeman Dayanand Singh said, “We were on a scooter and were going to the hospital. Since the drain was open and was flooded due to rain water, we did not get to know about it and fell into it along with the scooter. We both got some injuries.”
Light rain occurred in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. According to the IMD’s prediction, isolated rain will occur over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh along with rain, thundershower, lightning and gusty winds (30-50 kmph) over Rajasthan till Tuesday.
