SAHARANPUR: A madrassa pupil, hailing from Karnataka, was held by a workforce of the Nationwide Investigation Company on Sunday for suspected terror hyperlinks.
The scholar, Farukh, was staying at a madrassa in Deoband of Saharanpur, police sources stated.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vipin Tada confirmed Farukh’s detention.
In response to the sources, Farukh is adept in lots of languages and was in contact with a module of the Pakistani intelligence unit ISI through a social media app.
He was being questioned by officers of NIA, they stated.
On June 23, a Rohingya pupil, Mujibullah, was arrested from Deoband.
