Varanasi: Eminent physician Dr Parag Bajpayee (53) allegedly shot himself with his licensed gun inside the washroom of his house in Varanasi late on Sunday night. The police gave this information on Monday.
Bhelupur ACP Praveen Kumar Singh said, “His family members immediately took him to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.”
“We are probing the matter after sending the body for post-mortem. After preliminary investigation, it is suspected that Dr Bajpayee was upset over some family issue,” the official said.
Dr. Bajpayee and his wife Dr. Vani Vajpayee, resident of Kaivalyadham Colony under Bhelupur police station, had a hospital.
Late on Sunday night, the police received information that Dr Bajpai had shot himself by locking himself from inside the washroom.
